Age
I am sharing this again because people continue to ask what age group are my books aimed at. Anyone of any age who likes magical adventures and fairy tales that can read at an eighth grade level should be able to read it very easily. Although I do have some 10 year olds that really like the books.

I really enjoyed Medinas first novel, December 21, 2015
By Amazon Customer
This review is from: Enchanted Circles: The First Novel of The Enchanted Circles Series (Volume 1) (Paperback)
I really enjoyed Medinas first novel. It was original, creative and magical. As a story about a 12 year old boy and a magical adventure, it's simple honest and true. It's been a long time since I was 12, but I could relate to Zachs anxieties, fears and his hope that everyone and everything would be OK. I thoroughly enjoyed all the characters (even the evil ones). I loved the fact that the characters had personal flaws, but were filled with hope. It made me want to know more about their background and the adventures to come. All in all great book. Can't wait to read the next installment.

I was not sure what to expect but I liked the blurb so I took a chance and bought the book, and I am VERY glad I did. This book is fantastic! The story is about a lonely 12 year old boy Zak, who finds out some of the quirky people living near his aunts home in the mountains are sorcerers, and they need him to help them fight 3 crazy and evil sorcerers. Vivid detail and lots of magical action make this a page turner. The twists and turns of the plot kept surprising me!
The author paints a warm and rich world where the extraordinary and the ordinary seem equally natural and real.
The characters are believable and likeable (except for the villainous sorcerers!) they are all well fleshed out. I really loved Zak, aunt Millie, Cole, miss Hannah and all the others!
Serious topics like losing a loved one, a distant parent, loneliness but also questions like what is right, and how do we know we are making the right decision, are expertly touched upon and explored without making the story sad or slowing the action, it gives the story great depth.
The 6 gorgeous illustrations with glowing jewel like colors give the book an extra richness. They are extraordinary! And people who are into coloring will no doubt find lots of inspiration in them. Every illustration is separately mentioned in the table of contents, you can simply tap one to study, admire and enjoy it!
The story was a stand alone, everything was very satisfyingly wrapped up, but I was very glad a new story was hinted at, and I have already bought the next installment!
This is a fabulous book for young and old. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy or just a good story!!

REVIEW
A review of last years, Enchanted Circles.
You can get this book and my new book, Unbroken Circles at
FULL CIRCLE BOOK STORE...Thanks
By Terri Bailey on December 23, 2014
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
Enchanted Circles is truly an enchanting story. It is evident that Paul Medina is an artist as he writes like a painter creating a setting for all to visualize, bringing this fantastical adventure of young Zak Evan to life for the reader. Zak is a normal twelve year old boy who has endured his share of tragedy in life, but when he meets a family of sorcerers, his life is forever changed in thrilling ways. While this book is indeed a fairytale of sorts, its penchant for making the reader question what is right and what is wrong is what makes it so special.
Though it was written with young adults in mind, readers of any age will be enthralled with this story. It has a sophisticated humor that spans the generations, and the poetry subtly woven throughout the scenes is so captivating with a certain sorcery of its own. I have absolutely loved reading this book and being a part of its magic. Medina has created such a unique story, and I can’t wait for other readers to discover it!

BOOK REVIEW of Enchanted Circles
Medina's background as an artist truly shines through in this enchanting tale. Medina continually describes the setting in a very beautiful, visual manner which encouraged me to put the book down periodically and let my imagination conjure up the images he described. His writing also conveys many sensory experiences -- we can imagine the sights, sounds, textures and aromas of each scene.
This book is also wonderful for children of many ages, as the story is extremely family friendly. The tale centers around 12-year-old Zak, who possesses impeccable manners and concern for everyone around him, and is truly a model of good virtues such as patience, respect for elders, and compassion. At the same time, Zak is a character to which many children (and adults!) can relate. He struggles somewhat with feelings of self-worth due to an emotionally distant father, but he faces this particular demon (and many others), to find that he can grow tremendously through persistence and the support of close family and friends.
This is a refreshingly beautiful must-read book!

New look for Enchanted Circles
An excerpt from an interview about Enchanted Circles
by Molly Brown, 2014
If you wanted to convince someone to read this book using only one sentence, what would that be?
"Oh boy...it's a unique little tale about a magical adventure, forbidden fruit, schizophrenic twins and chocolate chip cookies, and not necessarily in that order."
Thanks Paul!

Well, a big day to me. I received my first honest-to-goodness royalty check in the mail today. After years of working on this book and struggling through the publishing, promoting and selling of the book, it was great to see that check I the mail box. It wasn't a huge check but still, it felt like a milestone of sorts. I can now call myself a professional writer...hot damn. Thanks for everyone's support.

FULL Circle Book Store
Got an email from the premier book store here in Oklahoma City, Full Circle Book Store, requesting my book for one of their customers. That was very exciting for me because it meant that the word of my book is slowing getting out there. I delivered a book to them, which they bought and I ordered several more for them to carry in their store. Now I will have a physical presence in a book store here in town, which is so cool. I have realized that this book game is a marathon, not a sprint and that it all takes time and a lot of planning.

Busy Busy
It's only the 3rd and it's been very busy already. I have taken duel art exhibits for April the 3rd, one in Oklahoma City and one in Tulsa, insane, I know but both are great spaces and I already have the work for both shows. On April the 18, I will have my first book and print signing at JRB Art at the Elms in Oklahoma City. It is a wonderful art gallery in the heart of the arts district here in OKC.
The book has already sold a few copies since the first which I find interesting because I haven't done any real advertising/social networking in about a week so...hopefully we can keep that going.
